The hotel building dates back to the XVIII century and houses the Grand Hotel Villa Medici. The hotel lobby is large and very attractively furnished in a decorative style that is traditional and elegant with many antique pieces of furniture. A very nice and beautifully decorated sitting area can be found in a room next to the lobby : marble floor, paintings, sofas covered with special textile, traditional style furniture. The hotel rooms vary in size but generally large are kept in exceptionally good condition along with the bathrooms. Rooms are very traditional and excellently appointed to a very high standard with many pieces of antique furniture. There is particular care to every detail. The hotel restaurant is located on the ground floor and offers refined cuisine with Tuscan specialties, the cuisine is to the highest of standards. Very big in size it is divided in 4 areas one of them overlooking the pool, the atmosphere is romantic and elegant. It has red fitted carpet and round tables and is nicely decorated with chandeliers and plants. This is a superb hotel and the only one in Florence offering a garden with a pool in the historical centre of the city.
