The 4-storey Montebello Splendid Hotel is housed in a grey and white stone palazzo with shuttered windows. Its gardens feature a bronze fountain, a Tuscan-style loggia and a tiny neo-classical temple where a charming meeting and banquet room are found. From the loggia, enriched with original mosaics, through the revolving doors, guests enter into the lobby, where marble, stucco and luminous niches create sense of pleasurable and stimulating harmony. The 60 guestrooms are all individually decorated. They feature stuccoes and antique furnishings co-ordinated with precious parquets, as well as soft carpeting and precious fabrics. The marbled bathrooms perfectly match the interior of the bedrooms. The hotel’s restaurant – Capriccio -which includes internal dining rooms, also extends to the luminous veranda and part of the garden, where, good weather permitting, guests can dine by candlelight or in an intimate room available for luncheons and private dinners.
