This hotel is great if you are looking for a central location within very easy walking distance of popular sites. My room was large and immaculately maintained. The staff were helpful with any queries I had. It was great to come back to such comfort after a hard day of sightseeing!
Allow me to mention the fantastic location again! Shops, cafes, Battistero, Campanile, and Duomo right on the doorstep. Don't need to bring an alarm clock as the Campanile bell tolls at 7am each morning! My room was at the 'back' so had no views but that wasn't a problem for me as I was out all day anyway. Request a room with a view if it is a 'must have' for you or just enjoy the view from the common sitting area in reception.
Top Tip
The hotel gave me a great recommendation for a restaurant - Bibo located in Piazza Santa Felicita just a few mins on the south bank after crossing Ponte Vecchio - the gnocchi and gamberoni dishes were fabulous. My bill was approx. 40 euro for 2 courses incl. wine and coffee for 1 person, excl. service charge.
I can also highly recommend Baldovino located on Via San Giuseppe 22/r, very close to the visitors' entrance to Sante Croce. They do the normal pizzas and salads etc. but I had the tortellacci (giant tortellini) and pork shin dishes, which were both superbly cooked. My bill here for lunch was approx. 26 euro for 2 courses and coffee, excl. wine but incl. service charge.
Both places had friendly and efficient service.
